Mining
Posted on December 11, 2009, 9:05 pm by Loddeykins.About three days ago I finally maxed out my mining level to 450. It was such a great feeling to finally accomplish this task that I had been working on since I first started my character. Whenever I saw that yellow dot on my mini-map that represented a vein or deposite, I would try to get it no matter how many enemies were around it. When you mine you can get ores, gems, and in later levels motes of fire. I was always way ahead of what mining level was average for my actual level. This helped me out a lot because there was never a mine I couldn't get (except for a couple Khorium mines). This profession is a great money-maker because it is used by so many secondary professions like blacksmithing, jewelcrafting, and engineering.
Some advice i have is to always get a vein whenever you see one, because doing this will ensure maximum potential. This seems obvious, but if you ignore only 1 vein every time you play because there are too many enemies or in a hard to reach spot, this will really add up over time. You need 375 mining to get Khorium (which is a rare spawn in an adamantite vein), and they are in Outlands. A stack of these sold for about 100g when I was this level. It was a great money-maker, and I would advise looking for these while you are in Outlands.
I am now mining cobalt, saronite, and titanium. Titanium (need 450 mining) is a rare spawn in Northrend and is also worth a lot in the AH. If you are looking for a great money-making gathering profession that is also a lot of fun, you should definately try out mining, you wont regret it. I will be adding more articles about mining in the future.Category: Mining
