Emblems of Triumph

Emblems of Triumph are a type of currency gained by completing dungeons. For every random, non-heroic dungeon that you run, you will receive two Emblems of Triumph. For heroic instances, it is a bit different.

The first time you complete a random, heroic dungeon, you will receive two Emblems of Frost, and each additional random instance will reward you two Emblems of Triumph. Furthermore, one Emblem of Triumph will be rewarded for every boss that you defeat within an instance.

Thus, if you do a random instance and get paired with Gundrak, you can receive up to 7 total Emblems of Triumph in just a single run; two of them for completing it, and one for each of the five bosses.

If you go to Icecrown and visit the Argent Tournament grounds, there will be three vendors that sell you gear in return for your Emblems. The most expensive pieces like head and chest cost 75 emblems, while rings and trinkets can go for around 35 emblems. I would recommend buying the cheapest items first so as to maximize your gear as early as possible.

The gear that you purchase ranges from item level 135-ish to 145, so it is a great way to boost up your gear rather quickly, and it also gives you an incentive to run earlier instances that no longer have gear drops that you may need.

There are also achievements that you will get for earning milestone quantities of these emblems. The first achievement for getting your first emblem, then your 25th, 50th, and 100th. I haven't gotten further than 100 yet, so I cannot vouch for any achievements after that, but if you are a completionist, try and go all the way!
